Who Are We?
The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. We are a Great Commission church (Matthew 28:19-20). As a global community of faith, we are commissioned to take the Good News of life in Jesus Christ to people everywhere and to spread the message of scriptural holiness (Christlike living) across the lands. The Church of the Nazarene bonds together individuals who have made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives, sharing in Christian fellowship, and seeking to strengthen each other in faith development through worship, preaching, training, and service to others. We strive to express the compassion of Jesus Christ to all persons along with our personal commitment to Christlike living.
While the primary motive of the church is to glorify God, we also are called to actively participate in His mission—reconciling the world to himself. The statement of mission contains historical essentials of our mission: evangelism, sanctification, discipleship, compassion. The essence of holiness is Christlikeness. Nazarenes are becoming a sent people—into homes, work places, communities, and villages as well as other cities and countries. Missionaries are now sent from all regions of the world. God continues calling ordinary people to do extraordinary things made possible by the person of the Holy Spirit.

We have begun organizing our child services! Right now, we are offering nursery and a children's program approximately every other Sunday called "Children's Worship Sunday". On the Sundays where children will join us in the sanctuary, it is "Family Sunday." On Family Sunday, grab a bag of crayons, a children's worship bulletin and activity folder for your child to enjoy during the service. (as you enter the sanctuary, by the baked goods ;-) There are 2 bulletins depending on your child's age. In the nursery there is a bathroom and baby changing station stocked with wipes and baggies for your use.
At New Horizons Church of the Nazarene, we know how important it is for our children to understand how much Jesus LOVES them. Through our friendly staff & biblical truths, we help them grow and learn how to build faith and trust in their Savior, Jesus Christ.
Join us! Everyone is Welcome!
This Christmas, New Horizons is partnering with Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree to bless local families who have a loved one in Michigan’s prison system. Our church has agreed to provide a Christmas gift to 12 children in our county who have a mom or dad in prison who signed them up to receive a Christmas gift. Each child is to receive a gift or two that costs no more than $25 altogether. Please prayerfully consider signing up to provide a gift to one of these precious children this Christmas. Look for the Christmas tree in the foyer, choose an Angel ornament that has information on a child who needs a gift. Make sure to sign the volunteer sheet on the table so we know who has signed up for which child. Gifts must be returned by December 11 or 18th (check the tag). If you have any questions, talk to Pastor Kory or email him at email@example.com. May Christ’s love shine through us!
